casual, why don’t yall slime PSA?
i mean everyone seems to already be complaining about the lazy service and decline of quality over the years with PSA as they’ve transitioned to higher profit/lower service modeling since their blow up in the industry since covid. the TC community is massive now and while it is technically a niche most niches aren’t so popular that every time i go to the grocery store i see a grown adult loitering at a card machine😭. letting one company run the whole show is obviously in 2026 america gonna bring price increases and ultimately less quality to the consumer even tho i think their most recent price changes and rule changes are fair (when 100x more people are submitting shit cards that’s just more supply than they can handle). that being said, i’ve personally gotten one of my cards graded through Beckett as they just happen to have a physical location near where i live, so i used their service and had a great experience for the most part. i really see zero difference in terms of the grading i got and what you’d get from PSA. i’m not knowledgeable enough to know, but other than the obvious that PSA is the industry leader and just the brand really, is there an actual quality or authentication reason why no one else uses anyone else? i mean yeah i can understand grades from other companies are worth less at an auction or show than PSA, but if yall want to stop complaining about them controlling the system you can’t expect to also profit off their price increase and foot it to whoever wants your card. i just feel there’s a lot of complaining and not a whole lot of doing anything but giving them more business so of course they won’t change (said as a cod fan whose watched the game i love become… something)
TLDR: what makes PSA so dominantly used by everyone and why not use some of their competitors if people don’t enjoy their pricing and changes over the last few years so much?
