So I 've been keeping up with a fair amount of posts on this subreddit and online for information about ASH. (I'm really excited!) But I am a little bit confused about this repeated 300 year time jump I keep seeing?

I can't find any actual sources that claim Pavi's story takes place 300 years after Korra's.

I've seen claims of a long time since we've seen the Avatar. I've seen claims that the creators said the took inspiration from shows like lost and planet of the apes (the latter of which has a 300 year time skip I think) but nothing on the actual time gap for the show. Did people just make up some rumor or was it ever actually confirmed?
