3D printed fenders anyone?
Hey guys, just wanted to share some 3d printed fenders i made. They seem to work well enough out of petg, though just made them and have only really tested them 1 day so far and haven't had the chance to test the rear one in the rain just the front one and it worked.
You just need to buy some basic screws from lowes. for the front fender just need 4 screws, i got the ones in the picture 6mm 1x16 allen drive cap screws. for the rear you need 2 screws for the tube mounting holes and 2 screws for the battery mounting holes. for the tube mounting holes i got 5mm 0.8x16 allen drive cap screws similar to those used in the front but 5mm, you'll need to print tiny cylinder holder things to make them 8mm thick so the fender can click on them. and then for the battery screws, 4mm 0.7x30 screws, here's the thing, i only found them online with a Phillips/slotted head but i bought them at my local lowes with a bolt head as you can see in the pics of my bike. but i think either will work since it's the length of the bolt that matters as long as the head is flat.
to print them you'll need at least a bambu a1, that's what i used. it is a tight fit but they both fit, i printed them on their sides because i thing it strengthens the handles on the front fender and it probably helps something on the rear fenders as well. Though just to be safe i added modifiers that add a ton of walls on the week areas. also add supports! That's mostly it, i'm a noob at fusion so this was the best i could do, i didn't have the actual measurements on the back so that was rough to do. I wonder why nobody else had done the fenders before, they seem to hold up so far, and holy cow they were like 400g and 500g of filament, i got some petg on amazon for 10.50 so i spent maybe 11 bucks on filament and 9 bucks on screws. Worth a shot to save $170 on the oem fenders.
Let me know what you guys thing and if you guys tried it how it went \[^.^]/
-if you guys want i can probably share how i made them on fusion step by step so you guys can remake them and modify them to better suit your needs or upgrade them if you know how to use fusion better than me!

front side view, you can see the bolts
front, front view, you can see the bolts
front fender fits in A1 on it's side with reinforced poles
you can barely see the rear bolts where the fender clips on
front view of rear fender, didn't get a perfect fit into that weird shape
not the exact bolt i used for rear battery connection, but same sizing
rear bolt used for the fender to clip onto
