FIRST YEAR ISSUE
In all honesty, I’m not choosing sides between the two teachers. I still don’t agree with the gatekeeping of materials because pare-parehas naman tayong nagbabayad ng tuition, so ideally everyone should have equal access to school materials. Pero at the same time, I also don’t agree with students becoming too reliant on “reviewers” alone. At the end of the day, we should still study to actually understand the concepts, not just depend on repeated questions or possible similarities sa exam.
But we also have to be realistic that different teachers have different teaching styles and ways of making exams, so it’s normal for students to prioritize studying the materials of the actual examiner. Siyempre aaralin mo kung ano tingin mong pinaka-relevant sa exam. That doesn’t automatically mean students are cheating or trying to take shortcuts.
Honestly, this whole issue mainly started because of how the teachers handled the reviewers and exams, so I don’t get why students are dragging each other down over something that wasn’t even fully our fault. If a teacher gives materials and students know that teacher is the examiner, of course students will use those resources. That’s normal. If alam mong examiner teacher mo, then don't be selfish. And if alam mo naman sino examiner, then take the initiative to ask around. Kahit wala kang kakilala, most students under that teacher weren’t selfish naman and were willing to share when asked.
I also get why people thought noong Q3 that students were just memorizing answers, but we genuinely didn’t know na the exact same questions would come out. So naturally, we still studied properly because we expected the situations in the quiz to be different, even if similar yung concepts. You still needed to understand the lessons to actually answer the quiz. If some students chose to just memorize the answers or the process, then that’s on them. A lot of us still made the effort to genuinely understand the concepts using the materials we were given.
At the same time, I also understand why students under 🎱 are frustrated ngayong Q4, but it's NOT because the tables have turned. I think people are misunderstanding that it's not really about the reviewers themselves anymore — it’s more about consistency and hypocrisy.
If the Q3 exam wasn’t voided and walang nagreklamo before, then we probably would’ve done the same thing ngayong Q4. That’s why I don’t think students should be attacking each other over this. Most people on both sides were just trying to study using the resources available to them.
At the end of the day, we should be helping each other instead of dragging each other down over a situation that students didn’t even create.
