I only got one med offer which I’m genuinely very grateful for but it was my least preferred choice and quite far from home. I went to the offer holders day in March and honestly realised I may have overestimated how independent I am because I already felt homesick after just one day there.
This morning I tried booking accommodation and there was basically only one option left. It’s quite far from both the medical school and town centre and the uni says you can’t change accommodation after booking. I’ve also seen some pretty bad reviews from past students who lived there which honestly made me even more worried😭
Now I’m wondering if I should just take a gap year and reapply somewhere closer to home instead, but I know how risky that is with UCAT and reapplying for medicine in general.
Should I just be grateful for the offer and go anyway? Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
