Planning our first family Efteling trip: best airport, taxi with child seats and “worth it” splurges
Hi everyone,
We’re starting to plan a family trip to Efteling for September/October and I’d love some advice from people who’ve done this with kids before.
We’ll be flying from Barcelona and I’m trying to figure out which airport makes the most sense. My first thought was Rotterdam because it seems closest, but I’m wondering if Schiphol or even Brussels might actually be easier overall for transport.
We’re also considering taking a taxi/private transfer directly to Efteling instead of dealing with trains after the flight, but we would need TWO children’s car seats. Has anyone here prebooked a taxi with two child seats before? Was it easy to arrange? Which company did you use, and roughly how much did it cost?
I know train + bus is much cheaper, so I’m trying to decide whether the convenience is worth the extra money for arrival day.
This trip is also a bit special for us because I recently received a small inheritance, and we’re thinking about allowing ourselves a few “worth it” splurges without going overboard. If you’ve done Efteling as a family, what would YOU spend extra money on to make the trip really memorable or less stressful?
