Looking for advice from people who’ve been through the empty nest phase

Hi everyone, I’m 49yrs my kids are all out there in school one in fbi academy in quantico Virginia and second one is med school, I live here in Newark new jersey but I’ve always been interested how people handle it?

i’m finding the house feel quieter than I expected and I’m trying to figure out what to focus on next-hobbies trave, maybe volu to the communit.

For those of you 50-70 who‘ve been through this

1 what help you feel settled after the kids left ?

2 Any project you pick up that you’d started sooner?

3 Did you find it easier or make new friends at this age or harder?

I’m just looking to learn from people who’ve actually lived it. Happy to hear stories, even if they’re messy.
