The outlet situation caught me off guard (Installed a Horow X70 this last weekend)
Spent most of Saturday installing a Horow X70 smart bidet toilet. I’ve done some basic plumbing before, so I figured this wouldn’t be too bad. Overall, it was manageable, but a few parts took more patience than I expected.
Removing the old toilet went smoothly, and the flange looked fine after cleaning off the old wax. The X70 itself was the harder part. It’s heavy enough that I wouldn’t really recommend moving or setting it alone. Getting it lined up over the flange bolts took a couple tries, and I was pretty careful not to mess up the wax seal.
The part I didn’t plan well enough was the electrical. It needs a grounded GFCI outlet within reach, and mine is on the wrong wall. I’m using an extension temporarily just to test everything, but I know that’s not a proper long-term solution.
Plumbing side was straightforward, and I don’t see any leaks so far. After setup, I ran through the seat position and water pressure settings. First use felt a little strange after spending the whole day installing it, but everything seems to be working.
One thing I was extra paranoid about was the floor bolts. They need to be snug, but not overtightened, especially on tile. I learned that lesson the hard way on a different install years ago.
For anyone with an all-in-one smart bidet toilet, how did you handle the power situation? Did you have an electrician add a GFCI outlet nearby, or did you find another clean solution?
