Will there be any large impact by going vegan/vegetarian?

Hi all!
I'm 15yo, and I've been educating myself on the meat industry. I watched a video abt it and was horrified by the conditions. I also love animals so I find it kinda hypocritical of myself to love my dog and still support the abuse of millions of other animals.

I just want to ask if there has been any noticable impact over the years as more and more people become vegan/vegetarian? Bc lowk I have this bad mentality that even if I go vegan/vegetarian, I as one person am not rly going to do anything, which de motivates me to actually put in effort to reduce meats in my diet.

Also, i read that some ppl who went vegan experienced a lot of health problems -- is this true for you guys?

Thank you so much!:))
