DACA while adjusting status

Hopefully you guys can offer some insight.

I’m currently on DACA - it’s set to expire February of 2027.

I’m also in the middle of my family based AOS. USCIS accepted my application in January, I did biometrics in February and received a RFE in April, response was mailed back in early May.

Considering the wait times for DACA renewals, would it be prudent for me to renew my DACA in August (6 months before expiration) or hope that my AOS is approved before then? My understanding is that interviews & approvals typically take longer after a RFE is issued.

I also emailed my lawyer, I’m waiting to hear back but in the interim I was hoping you guys could maybe give some advice or personal experience anecdotes for my problem.

Thanks for reading!!

**its worth mentioning I am from one of the 39 countries that applications were paused for.**

My daughter is 4 and has been successfully using the “big potty” for a few months now with no issues. We have the seat type insert with stairs & handles on the sides, she’s always been comfortable with it.

For the last few days she has flat out refused to use the toilet, to the point where she pees her pants. She keeps insisting that she wants to use the “small potty” (a little miniature one for potty training toddlers) and will NOT go unless it’s on that potty.

We’ve tried bribing her with treats, toys, stickers, we’ve tried reasoning it out and nothing - she cries and screams bloody murder any time we sit here on the toilet.

What else can we do at this point? I’m running out of ideas 🥹
