Tell me I’m wrong about samplers
I’m a snowbird and started smoking in Florida this last winter… Didn’t really know what a cigar bar was! So I put my big toe in the water. When I got back up north I started buying online. I bought some five packs… Hit and miss. Then I bought four samplers over time. I would say medium priced samplers. Four or five dollars a stick. I started keeping notes about which ones I liked. I would then look that particular cigar up online and found out it was a $10 cigar. I don’t know if they’re trying to get me hooked on a particular brand and selling the stuff at a decent rate, or what the motivation is. Now my pallet is not that refined. But my point is this: I think I can live with just about every $10 cigar out there. Some are better than others of course, (and there’s no accounting for taste) and I imagine they put a couple stinkers in there. But if it burns well, draws well, and doesn’t fall apart… I call that a win. I will use an analogy with booze. I like (sipping) Mezcal, bourbon, rye, a good gin… and if you buy the good stuff, you’ll probably enjoy it. Don’t buy a $10 bottle of booze… If you get a 30 or $40 bottle of booze it will probably will be OK. And I can’t afford $100 bottles of booze. Tell me where my logic is wrong!
