Academy USAAF P-51 ( North Africa) Fighter Plastic Model Kit do you prime it before painting it?

Hello I have a couple of model questions

  1. Do I need to prime the parts before assembling?
  2. If I have already used thin cement to fit things together am I better off not trying to undo the work and paint what I can?
  3. Do you have any videos you can recommend for a beginner to learn and lean more into the hobby?
  4. Is there a brand of model kit you recommend for new people? The P51 model instructions are hard AF to read

More back ground info about why i’m asking:
I have assembled Warhammer and bolt action minis and just recently did a waterline series destroyer and I had alot of fun making it and painting it! so I thought I’d get a P51 and make and paint it for my dad as a a gift. I was assembling the cockpit and hadn’t painted anything yet and realized I might’ve goofed, because I don’t think i’ll be able to paint in the back block behind the cockpit chair.

Thanks in advance, i’m still new and learning and appreciate anyone’s time to respond.
