Doctors refuse to take me seriously due to my autism
I don't know if this is the correct tag. it's moreso a vent-ish thing but I was wondering if any one of you had experienced this. Advice and any support is greatly appreciated because it feels like it'll never get better.
So, I have been dealing with relatively severe chronic pain, so much so I am basically a shut-in. I leave the house maybe once a month, I cannot physically bear more than that. So, as any normal person would, I go to the doctor. However somehow every. Single. Doctor. Has attempted to pin my chronic pain on my autism. Now, you may be thinking "oh well maybe it is something autism related causing your body to be in pain" which, sure, is a possibility.
However my doctors basically just dismiss me due to my autism and refuse to do any sort of tests or anything. (All I've had done in 8 months of agony is an xray and bloodwork) My doctors keep saying "oh but your autism!!🥺" asthough autistic people can't have any physical issues? It frankly feels like they're being lazy and just pinning it on whatever they can.
I'm wondering if any of you have been through this, because honestly it just feels like I'll never be taken seriously at this rate. If you have been through this, what did you do? I cannot be the only one who's gone through this.
(And before anyone tells me to go to a different doctor, I can't. I've tried.)
