alcohol as a big trigger

Hey guys!

Sorry we all suffer from migraines, but I’m thankful to find this community! 💜👐🏻

I’ll spare you the ins and outs of my migraine journey. It took me way too long to realize that the blue light from my phone was causing them. Nowadays, I have a lack back screen and wear sunglasses when I need to look at a white screen.

But it seems increasingly that alcohol is also a trigger. I don’t drink liquor anymore, but golly how I love my wine. The only wine I’m guaranteed to not have a problem with is orange wine (who knows why). But when I’m out to eat, orange isn’t always an option. I’ve had two glasses of white wine that left me bedridden in the dark for 14 hours the next day.

Anyone deal with this and find a way around it? Wine is the only drug I do (other than caffeine). I’d prefer to not have to give it up entirely. Organic wines seem to be fine, but that’s not always or even often an option on the menu. Also, anyone know what the science behind this is? Is it the sulfites that trigger the migraines?

Thanks for weighing in. Wishing you all clear and happy heads 💜❤️
