Feeding dinosaur blood to vampires

Vampires feed on the unconscious.

Long ago I read a forum post saying that vampires can drink from unconscious animals who have been knocked out by forgotten beast syndromes, but I never caught one that had a safe unconsciousness effect while also having captive vampires for testing.

Until now!

The creature on the left has a deadly dust attack that causes drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea. It was found inside a gem pillar and baited up a tunnel. The miner who found it lived by being blasted through a door and being knocked unconscious with injuries severe enough to require the regenerative waters of Tongschapel. He got better.

Now drug dust is dispensed through a fortification by lowering a bridge. The dust knocks the anesthetized blood donor through a hatch and into the vampire pen for consumption. Wash any surviving animals exiting the vampire pen to avoid spreading the syndrome.

A pack of three undead vampires drained a cow dry (impressive gluttony) so I decided to try bigger blood donors. A young spino not much bigger than a cow barely survived one feeding. The largest spino I have has the mass of 1.1 elephants and showed no visible blood loss from one feeding, suggesting that vampires have a supernaturally vast but finite hunger.

A blood feast does not give a positive thought to vampires but does make them docile for a time. They seem to stay satisfied for more than a month, usually. This is useful for making vampires controllable enough to use as soldiers.
