This polish was one of my very first purchases from Mooncat two years ago and it's still one of my favorites 😍 the deep purple base andl the micro glitter really ticks all my boxes for polish! Last time I wore it matte so I decided to go glossy this wear and its so nice! It's opaque in one coat, but I did a second because I've found that one coat polishes sometimes are more fragile and chip easier. I did have to add some thinner to the bottle before I used it, but its two years old so I feel like that's kind of expected.

First two pictures are glossy, the third is what it looks like dried matte before I added top coat and cleaned it up a little 😅

I have the sister polish Dream Within a Dream and absolutely love it, I was super disappointed when they didn't restock this shade one last time 💔

I got it as a reward a few months ago and when it got here I was just... not excited 😒 in the bottle it looked like the base was super brown and I the shimmer leaned heavily orange.

HOWEVER, when I finally got around to trying it this week it's actually amazing! The base is purple, which I love ❤️ and the shimmer does have some orange, but there's also some pretty red and yellow that all somehow work with the purple base? Basically, I love it and I take back all my slander from before I gave it a fair shot 😅

I tried capturing the different glows of Moonlight Lullaby here in decreasing amounts of light, thought it turned out pretty cool and thought I'd share!

The glow was very strong, although not quite as strong as my bottle of Avatar State. These pictures were taken after playing outside with my kiddos, and I found the glow super reactive after only being in the sun for a few minutes. It also lasted a while for me, when I would wake up in the night with my kids they were still glowing hours after the sun set and after I'd turned off my overhead lights!

The formula was nice, but it started to get a little thick at the end of the mani so I'll probably add some thinner next time I get it out!

Back when the Deadly by Nature collection was releasing people were posting comparison pictures for it and this dark rainbow skittle was featured in one of the swatch photos (I'll keep looking for the original post, all I saved was a screenshot). I immediately knew I had to try it, so Root of All Evil and Jewel Beetle finally made their way from my wishlist to my cart during the sale!

I love the look of all the chrome polishes together, they are beautiful in every light! I'll post some stills in the comments with different lighting.

At the end of my manis I like to through some other polishes on as toppers just to test it out! Left hand is Black Widow, right hand is Illusionist.

Both hands are topped as follows: pointer 1x Shroomdom, middle 1x Moonfairy, ring 1x Sea Between Us, pinky and thumb 1x Pomegranate Seeds

I think the best one out of this group is Illusionist topped with Shroomdom, the camera doesn't quite capture how pink the flash is under the red jelly, very cool!

These two are amazing and stunning and I'm so glad I grabbed them during the sale 😍

Black Widow fulfills all my desires for a true Mooncat red, maybe even a cool leaning red! I don't see any orange at all, just a lovely pure red against the black background. Illusionist I grabbed as a reward and its really stunning, its much more pink than I was expecting but honestly I dig it. The pink dominates indoors, but in natural light and direct sunlight I do see the green and gold flashes as well. The holo glitter adds a fun little sparkle, but I will say the base reads as black, not dark red. Overall I'm very happy with it as a reward polish, I love grabbing magnetic rewards because I feel like I'm using my points well haha.

10/10 polishes, really no complaints 👌

I feel like I've hit the point of needing to "buy" from my own stash and make sure I'm wearing and loving the colors I already have 😇

I have a few polishes in mind for a destash, but I feel like I need to give them a fair shake before I decide 🤔

... aka more sale swatching. After a disaster with a potato peeler destroyed my pointer nail I decided it was time for a reset and cut all my nails down 😥 it was probably important though because I noticed several nails had some rips starting to form in the side wall, so its a good thing they get a chance to grow back strong again! I was surprised by how much it affected me to have them short again after six months of keeping them fairly long, and I wasn't feeling very motivated to paint them. Luckily my second sale order arrived and I have a bunch of new colors to try out, so I decided to grab a few for each hand that kind of shared a color family and just try it out!

The left hand is 2 coats each of I'm a MF Supernova on pinky and thumb, Manchineel Tree on pointer and ring, and 3 coats of Witch Hazel on the middle.

Supernova did not disappoint, its as amazingly sparkly as advertised! Manchineel Tree is a super fun polish as well, the green is obnoxiously lovely, and the orange/yellow shift is fun and pretty! I'm glad I grabbed witch hazel as a reward, its a fun shimmer and I'm excited to try it as a topper, but I'm not sure its my color on its own 🤷‍♀️

The right hand is 3x Requiem for a Swan on thumb and pinky, Death's Trumpet on pointer and ring, and Root of All Evil on the middle.

I'm pleased with Swan, the holo glitter is more subtle than Supernova (honestly I think every polish is subtle compared to Supernova 😂) but its still really pretty especially in direct sun. The transparent flakies add an interesting depth that is fun to look at as well. Deaths trumpet is definitely sheer, but on shorties it wasn't too noticeable and I really like the formula actually, its almost like a crelly in texture, and the solar change is fun, it really emphasizes the blue shimmer. Root of all evil had been on my wishlist forever and I'm super glad I pulled the trigger, the green and purple give serious evil queen vibes that I can definitely get behind!

Overall I'm very happy with these colors and formulas (ignore the smudge on my right hand, it was late and I didn't have the energy to reapply after a run in with a blanket 😅)

I got my first sale order this week and Deadly Nightshade was at the top of my list to try! The shifts were gorgeous as promised: in the sun is see mostly purple, green, and teal; in the shade more of the gold and pink come through although the green and teal are still super strong; and indoors I would say its predominantly gold and pink with little flashes of the green, purple, and teal! Basically, its the shifty polish of your dreams, it honestly never looks the same and its so fun to see all the different colors come through.

My only real issue with this polish is that I've had some chipping issues, which is really uncommon for me with Mooncat formulas. For reference, I wore Bloodbender for two weeks last month and only had one chip in the final two days of the mani, whereas I've only been wearing DN since Tuesday this week (so six days) and I already have four chipped nails 😭 It's a fairly thin polish, and I only did two coats because it was opaque so I didn't feel like it needed a third, but maybe next time I use it I'll have to try three coats to see if it strengthens it!

I'd love to hear any tips y'all have for avoiding chips in polishes with think formulas, I love this shade and I want to wear it for longer than a few days!

Has anyone had a chance to try their bottle yet? I'm getting more and more intrigued by this polish the longer I think about it, especially cause I just used Avatar State on my toes (not pictured for all the obvious reasons 🤪) and I remembered how much fun the glow in the dark is after a day spent charging it in the sun while chasing my kiddos everywhere!

I already placed my first order for the sale and I can't wait for it to get here! As always during a sale, now I'm agonizing over my second purchase.... please help 😭

What are your experiences with La Petite Mort? Is the magnetic strong? I love the color (purple for the win), but if the magnetic effect is lacking then I'm not sure I need it, I don't love it in the nonmagnetic state.

I'm a MF Supernova calls to me with its sparkle... I'm not really bothered by the packed formula, its okay if its gritty as long as its as sparkly as it looks.

Any strong opinions for Black Widow and Werewolf's Bane are appreciated too, but my mind is pretty made up about those, the entire Deadly by Nature collection slaps 😍 (I already got the rest of the collection minus Taipan Venom in my first order, just waiting on more swatches for Venom before I make a decision)

PSA: I know the Avatar set isn't included in the sale, but I loved Bloodbender so much and want a backup bottle. I'm worried by the next sale it could be sold out or even discontinued since the limited collections tend to hang around for a year or so. Figured I'd add it to my order since I'm already getting free shipping, plus it bumps me over the $70 threshold 🤷‍♀️

Still working through my collection of magnetics and flakies to find more fun combinations, so you know I had to take Bloodbender out for a spin! The magnetic formula of this polish is so reactive, its so easy to work with and I love it every time I pull it out of my collection. I'm considering getting a backup bottle since it's LE, which is something I've never done before, but I just love it so much 😍

I topped the pointer and ring fingers with one coat of Eye Candy from Boldfish Polish, a small indie that was previously Facebook exclusive but she's opening a website next week and I'm super excited!! Eye Candy is a pretty dead on dup for Forces of Evil, I'll post some swaths of it in the comments! I really like this combo, the pink base of Eye Candy makes the purple in Bloodbender really pop and the flakies are more orange and pink than the video suggests. Super pretty and I'll definitely be doing it again!

Some swath photos from Mooncat's Facebook page. It really just looks like a white polish with white sparkle that glows white. Maybe it's for some people, but I just can't get excited about it. Maybe pictures in the wild will change my mind later 🤷‍♀️

It's been super sunny at my house this week and I had the need for sparkles, so I decided to to a holo skittle and I LOVE IT!! I know people have opinions about linear holos, but I have so much fun with them and I really like the more metallic look they have indoors!

1x hard core base to start. From thumb to pinky, all 2x: Antifragile (DD), Venus Flytrap (DD), Shattered Glass, Not Today Satan, Fake Halo. All nails topped with 1x speed demon

I wanted to experiment more with magnetic and flakie combos, and figured this week was a good time to work with some blues and greens in honor of lightsabers!

All nails are two coats of Mutiny, one thin layer unmagnatized and one thick layer 90 seconds in the 5D print glass bead spinner. The middle finger was my "control", since this was the first time I've worn Mutiny so I wanted to see how it looks on its own, and it did not disappoint! Such a strong magnetic effect, and the green is so bright 😍

Thumb and ring finger have one coat of Maelstrom, and pointer and pinky have one coat of The Sea Between Us. I feel like SBU makes the overall color of the nail more blue, while the Maelstrom nails stayed more green!

Got these two recently and after seeing them together I thought it would be interesting to see them in different combos! Merkitten is that bright pink with the blue shimmer, and Dewpearls is a shimmery blue with a surprising pink glow. Kinda felt like they are inverse colors and I like how they interact with each other!
