Hi!

4th baby. All babies so far have been natural births, all babies have arrived around their due date. Last baby I had polyhydramnios but there’s was no action plan or anything mentioned whatsoever.
This pregnancy, polyhydramnios again. Waters should be under 8cm and mine are consistently 9-9.5cm. Everything online states this is very mild.

This time however, they’re stating that if baby isn’t engaged at 37 weeks, they want me to be admitted to hospital that day….
They’re saying it’s due to risk of cord prolapse if my waters go.

My issues are:
My waters are literally 1cm too much..
4th babies are not going to be engaged at 37 weeks, it’s very common and normal for them not to engage until labour.
Last baby I didn’t have any of this drama?
Admission could mean being in hospital for like 3-4 weeks for no reason…
If my waters were 1cm less then the entire issue ‘goes away’.

I posted in a forum that’s predominantly American and all the women on there with polyhydramnios aren’t being admitted or anything.. like, no concerns or measures… not unless it’s ’severe’ category of extra waters. Most of these women are just having extra scans, which I’m already having.

My heads a bit 😵‍💫 right now.

Thoughts?

Has anyone experienced this?

We were late for our apt, and the ultrasound tech was being a bit ‘moody’ with us.
I laid down and she asked if we know what it is. We said no, we are having a surprise.
(We have children already who are all the same gender!)
My husband asked if we would be able to get a scan picture. She replied “won’t have time, because you were late”. Rude tone.
She then proceeded to say “oh baby **inserts gender** is in breech position”.
I was silent and in shock. We genuinely didn’t know what to say.
Then not even 20 seconds later she says “definitely a **inserts gender**”

She then quite sarcastically toned said “oh…. You didn’t want to know… did you?”
I was just so in shock and also getting quite lightheaded laying on my back heavily pregnant.. i didn’t know what to say.
My husband then said “are we able to have a scan photo then? I’m really quite annoyed that you just told us what it is when we said we didn’t want to know”. And she replied “well I’m annoyed that you were late”.
It felt SO PETTY and just bizarre energy.
My husband got frustrated and then the ultrasound tech said “I’m sorry, never slipped before…”

Absolutely gutted to have got all the way to the third trimester, heavily pregnant, and that surprise taken away from us. It’s been a scary pregnancy with lots of bleeding and moments where we thought we’d lost the baby. To find out the gender is the gender we haven’t yet got… would have been SO special to find out at the birth. And that’s been taken away from us.

Not sure the point to my post. Just, sad mamma moment.

I really struggle with people who are my opposite sign.. it took years for me to realise this was the only consistent ‘catalyst’.
What does this mean?!

Arghhhhhhh!

No one ever replies to me on mychart!

I needed to change a midwife apt. I ring the number that’s in there - rings maternity triage (?) I go through all the options and speak to a midwife as that’s the only relevant option. I explain I need to change an apt but no one on MyChart is responding or changing it and I don’t want to look like a no show. She says she will sort it out and she took my details. She said someone will reply to the MyChart message as she put a note.

Well… nothing changed! So they’re expecting me to be at my appointment and I’m obviously not there. So I look like a no show.

I have no assigned midwife. They have no phone number to give me apart from the one plastered everywhere which is just the maternity triage.
