Does anyone else have this ?

I especially dread going to the hairdresser, because usually after the shampoo they will brush your hair with a fckn COMB from the top and then down and it will pull at every single hair knots and break them. I already dont have a lot of hair, why do I bother with small hair claws and silk scrunchies and anti breakage products if she's gonna ruin all my efforts in the matter of seconds? Just the feeling of that single hair pull has me in a murderous mood. How do you approach a hairdresser about this ? Is it okay to ask if I can brush my hair myself ?
