
Do you agree with this statement? This video advocates for Tribalism?
The problem I see is that we want to point fingers when we see certain groups using ethnic loyalty as their foundation of support. However, I think what makes tribalism bad is advocating for calling certain tribes names or stigmatizing them. When tribalism becomes oppressive, it is severely negative—such as hiring for or against a specific tribe, to mention a few examples. Voting for someone because of their tribe feels like a starting point where people can say, 'I know this person, he used to live here, I know his parents, and I know where he went to school.' These factors build ethnic loyalty. Moreover, HH has campaigned in his strongholds for over 20 years! That isn't an oppressive tribal vote—that is a reinforced concrete and steel stronghold! So what do we actually think tribalism is? It's not like HH is some random person; he is one of the most successful and smartest people in Zambia
