Meet Mingus. I adopted him from the Dallas shelter a month ago. He is one, lives with another one-year-old dog, and a 14-year-old dog. He was picked up as a stray and skinny when we brought him home, but not emaciated.

He is a pretty easy going guy when we are home, but when we leave he finds whatever he can and shreds it and pees everywhere. He gets highly freaked out when crated so we’ve just opted for cleanup rather than distress. And food…he has an insatiable appetite. In the last week seems hellbent on stretching and scrounging anything he can get to off the counter.

He loves playing with our other young dog, gives our old dog space, and is snuggly. He gets walks, playtime, a little training, and lots of praise.

How can I help lower his anxiety and/or help him feel sated?

Pics; tonight, first day home, hanging with his BFF dog friend.
