Is this normal?
Started taking spironolactone about 3 weeks ago and have noticed progressively worsening widespread comedonal type spots appearing all over my chest/back (different to the body acne for which I was originally prescribed this medication). Currently on 50mg OD.
It’s not itchy or raised like you would expect for a typical allergic reaction. Don’t think it’s really “purging” because I’m not getting it at all on my face.
Unfortunately I’m not due to see my dermatologist for another two months… unsure if I should stop taking it or push through but ultimately this is worse than my normal acne and it is making me feel like crap because it’s so ugly!
Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be a reaction to the medication? I haven’t really changed my lifestyle in any other way (I.e. still eating my usual diet and drinking a similar amount of alcohol to before which is not much).
