Hi everyone, incoming transfer student here.

Any recommendations on where I can find raves, house shows, organizations, and overall a more alternative scene at UVA? I'd love to get closer to people who share similar interests with me, and I'm wondering where a good place to start would be while I'm in Charlottesville.

Could you share any Instagram accounts, interesting spots, academic/social clubs, or anything else that can help me find my people and a more alt crowd? Thank you!

Hi everyone!

Just a few days ago, I received my acceptance letter. I'm thrilled to be transferring from GMU to UVA as a third-year student this upcoming fall!

Congratulations to everyone else who got in! To everyone waitlisted, I got waitlisted a year ago and eventually made it. To everyone who has been rejected, just remember that one door closes and another opens. Keep working hard!

I'm honestly making this post in an attempt to establish myself before the semester begins. I'm looking for friends, organizations, and opportunities that would help make the transition a little easier.

Some personal interests:
I love cars (I own a 2008 Volvo C30 T5), RuPaul's Drag Race, exploring nature, and anything art-related (fashion, photography, music, etc.), and hanging out.

Some academic interests:
I'll be transferring into UVA's College of Arts and Sciences as an Economics major. I hope to minor in Chinese and potentially Data Science.

Some professional interests:
I would love to gain real experience in economic research, data analysis, and anything potentially business/international related (I'm currently involved in a professional fraternity and Model United Nations here at GMU)
