Am I doing something wrong?
Needing advice really regarding sleep, and the intricacies of parenting a toddler (something new every week). Our daughter has recently taken to waking at the same time every night, at around 23:00pm. She’ll awake fairly distressed and calling for me and, unfortunately to say, I’d rather just lay on the floor beside her cot and comfort her back to sleep than let her get increasingly distressed and eventually fall back to sleep (that’s the advice her grandparents on both sides keep offering).
I have thought teething issues, I know she’s currently teething some of her back teeth still because she’ll always put her fingers to the back of her mouth or gesture towards her cheek and say “ow” or “hurty” so we’ve had that covered.
I believe that her room at the moment is too hot at night for her, we’ve transitioned her to two piece PJ’s and for a while she slept great, but now that the weather is starting to warm faster and faster her room temperature at night is about 21c (69.8-70f) and I’m thinking maybe we’re off about the amount of coverage she has.
She tends to wear at this temp:
A nappy
A bodysuit (short sleeved)
Two piece PJ set (long sleeved)
Socks
A duvet or a thin blanket (I’m not sure of the tog)
I’m considering excluding the bodysuit from the equation but my daughter tends to run a bit cooler at the moment, both of her parents run really hot, so I’m even wondering if she’s starting to replicate that?
Any advice would be amazing!
TL:DR I think we’re overdressing our daughter for the warmer nights and she’s waking at the same time every night and taking a while to go back down to sleep.
