I don't work well paying jobs, but I jumped at this one for a $40k salary (most I've ever made, I'm in RI for reference). I should've known when it took 3 months and 4.5 hours of interviewing. When they fired someone for me to replace. When the training was so spotty and not structured. Because they fired the last person in the position, I'm not properly trained. The job was advertised are more community based (being at local events spreading the word of the business to generate sales). Thats normally what my position would do, but I do not. My location is the only one where my position does not, I'm actually tied to a phone cold calling and general phones 90% of the time. The business (family fun center) actually only has a phone at my desk for the entire business, so if you call to ask anything outside my 35-40 hours a week you do not get an answer. My days off, no phone is answered. Theres more to it but the phone blow my mind. I don't get a weekend day off because "no on else can answer the phone".
I feel like an ass that someone was fired for me to be hired in a position I don't like. I'm supposed to have a 30 day review (it's actually been 6 weeks or so) and I think I'm going to just rip the band aid and tell them it's not a good fit. However, I'm expecting gaslighting and verbal lash back. I have never felt this was about a job, I've never felt trapped from quitting (I'm the first person to tell you to hustle to the next thing).
