I moved to NYC from Georgia 7 years ago and Southwest has been my one and only airline. I got the credit card a few years ago and always qualified for the companion pass so my husband could fly for $5. I was booking a flight to go home for my sister’s baby shower and discovered that there are now ZERO direct flights between Atlanta and NYC in either direction. The same week I get the letter telling me there is now an annual fee of $99. Safe to say this card has no more value to me and I’m done flying Southwest. Fortunately they provided the number for me to call and cancel on the fee notice so it was quick and painless. Will never understand the decisions they have made as a company in the past year.
