I'm attaching a portion of an mp3 file of a song recorded from a radio speaker with a microphone. A few seconds in, you'll hear, in the background from another room, my canary or parakeet "singing along" with the song that's playing. I'm wondering if there's a way in Audacity to make the bird chirping more prominent? This is sourced from a cheapie cassette I recorded back in 1969 - and I'm actually surprised it still plays with no jams. The chirps run from three seconds in to about 26 seconds

Okay, here's the situation. I just created an MP3 from a cassette tape I recorded in 1969 or 70 when I was a kid that I'm attaching here. On this tape, I had recorded a song playing on the radio with the mike against the speaker. While the song was playing, my pet canary "sang along" from the other room by chirping away for a good 20 seconds. It's audible, but in the background. I'm wondering if Audacity offers a method to amplify that chirping in an MP3. I can't find a way to do it.

This is a new one on me. Our HOA is conducting a census, asking for resident names, their ages, type of car driven, that sort of thing. That's fine with me. However, they also want to know how many pets we own (we're permitted two) dog license numbers, and THEIR NAMES! Yes, they want to know our PETS' NAMES.. They also want to know what insurance we use.

I find these requests, especially my pets' names, to be overly intrusive and frankly none of their damn business.

Any other homeowners come across these type of requests?

I will not give them that info.

I'm trying to extract audio playing under primary audio on an mp3.

Here's the situation. I used to have a parakeet that "sang along" with the radio. Once, while taping a song on the radio by microphone, my parakeet, in another room, sang along with it for about ten seconds of the of the entire two-minute clip.

Is there a way to extract that parakeet's sound only from that clip?
