very low night stand next to my futon wanted

Hey friends,

I sleep on a japanese futon on tatami mats, and I want to put a very low (japandi) night stand next to it, so I can keep my tissues, glasses & bottle next to me without just putting it on the floor and having to tidy up every single morning.

How do you guys do it??

Sadly I cannot for the life of me find anything close to what I'm looking for... Can you guys share your wisdom please?

- low nightstand (<40cm)

- closed design (drawer)

- does not have be too spacious

Also if anyone has some other idea what to do about my issues I'd apprechiate your input :D

I ran over a cat, now I'm worried (might be too explicit for some, mention of death of a cat)

I just ran over a cat by accident.

She ran onto the street from behind a bush and we both tried to stop immidiately. But she got under my tire, ran a few meters and collapsed dead.

I feel awful.

I am so sorry for the cat, the life I ended too soon, the owners who will dearly miss her, all the joy the cat would have brought to this world.

All because of me.

I feel guilty. I ended a life today. I fear she suffered. I know the owners will be devastated.

I know it was an accident, it's dark, I drove the speed limit, I paid attention to the road, I did an emergency stop as soon as I saw her from the corner of my eye. We both just were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

But still she would still be here if I wasn't driving on that road at that exact moment. I feel guilty for being there.

I already lit a candle for her, I apologized at the site, I keep apologizing (in my head) both to the cat and their owners.

Can I somehow help the cats soul/spirit to move on?

I already did a metta meditation for the cat and the owners.

(I already posted on a local facebook site for found/dead animals so the owner can claim the cat. I also called the police which told me to just leave the cat for the owners to find)

Please feel free to share how you'd cope with something like that happening. I feel helpless and devastated.

Went barefoot - got a wart

Do any of you have similar experiences?

I went mostly barefoot at home and in my garden for the past few days, and promptly got a wart on my sole...

I usually wear slippers inside since I don't live alone.

Are those things correlated?

Edit: thank you all for your helpful responses! I will take care of my wart and then work on being even more barefoot for a healthy foot klima :)
