Owens v Marraccini - Appeal Opening Brief was Due 7/29/26. Court extended to 15 days after it rules on the motion to augment.

David Gingras’ Arizona Attorney License Bar - Hearing Vacated, Dismissal Denied, and new dates will be announced after the AZSC Denies his Petition.

**6/15 — UST's Motion to Appear Remotely (Doc 42)**
The U.S. Trustee's office asked the court for permission to appear by videoconference at the hearing on the debtors' emergency stay-extension motion.

**6/15 — Notice of Lodging Proposed Order (Doc 43)**
A proposed order was lodged granting that request. It authorizes the UST to appear remotely at the 10:30 a.m. hearing set for June 18, 2026.

**6/16 — Alliant Credit Union's Objection to Stay Extension (Doc 46)**
Alliant (holder of a HELOC on the property) objects to extending the automatic stay. Their argument: this is the debtors' second bankruptcy in about a year, the first one (Chapter 13) was dismissed in January, nothing about their finances has materially changed, and the debtors haven't paid Alliant since mid-2025. Alliant wants the stay denied so they can move toward foreclosure/eviction.

**6/17 — Notice of Appearance, Alliant Credit Union (Doc 48)**
Alliant's attorney formally entered an appearance in the case and filed a standard "request for special notice," preserving various procedural rights (jury trial, de novo review, etc.) without conceding jurisdiction.

**6/17 — Debtors' Motion to Appear Remotely (Doc 49)**
Elizabeth Naylor and Ronald Owens (pro se) asked to appear by Zoom for the stay hearing instead of in person, citing Mr. Owens's age (80) and serious health issues — Parkinson's, a current cancer diagnosis, heart disease — and citing ADA accommodation grounds.

**6/17 — Debtors' Reply to UST's and Alliant's Objections (Doc 51)**
This is the big one — a 29-page reply. The debtors argue:
- Their prior Chapter 13 was dismissed because their old attorney dropped the ball, not because they acted in bad faith
- They have documented monthly income (~$21,083) from pensions and Social Security, which they say supports a feasible plan
- Schedule discrepancies the UST flagged are due to an emergency, no-attorney "skeleton" filing days before a scheduled foreclosure sale — and a motion to fix the schedules is already pending
- They missed their Initial Debtor Interview because they say they never got notice of it
- Alliant's objection was filed about 19 hours after the court's deadline and should be disregarded
- They argue Chapter 11 gives them tools (mortgage mediation program, cure-and-reinstate rights) the Chapter 13 didn't

I wanted to take a moment to recognize one of our mods for the incredible amount of unseen work she’s done for the JFC community over the last year.

I recently received a mod message from Reddit highlighting that one of our mods, u/cnm1424 does 72% of the moderator work on this subreddit. 😱

So I went digging…

In the last 12 months alone, she’s completed over 12,800 mod actions (things like approving posts, removing rule-breaking content, reviewing reports, handling spam, and helping keep the subreddit running smoothly every single day).

She also sent the majority of our 2,200 mod messages in the last 12 months, which are the private messages moderators send to users regarding questions, rule issues, approvals, bans, clarifications, and general community support.

For over a year, she has consistently posted every community discussion thread and diligently maintained the running lists of court hearings and important JFC updates so the community could stay informed and organized.

And honestly, that’s still only part of what she does. So much of her work happens quietly in the background without recognition.

Cinny, we appreciate you so much, and this place is genuinely better because of everything you do.

A few minutes of reflection remembering how unhinged Laura’s attorney was towards Dave and his then pregnant wife.

Now that the podcast has wrapped up, I thought it would be fun to share some throwback posts about information that didn’t make it into the series.

In 2023, Laura — and later David Gingras — tried to convince both law enforcement and the public that Greg Gillespie was behind JFC. (See 10/8/23 Police Report.)

Laura even compiled a 33-page document titled “The Gillespie Connection” in an effort to persuade police that Greg had violated her restraining order through his alleged “online activities.”

Meanwhile, her lawyer routinely referred to random JFC members as “Greg” whenever they made strong points against either Laura or himself, seemingly as a way to discredit them.

Laura also claimed that Greg created an early-era JFC meme by hacking her email and stealing her sonogram. Ironically, this is the same meme she later argued Clayton created during her restraining order hearing — the very hearing in which she was granted a restraining order based in part on that meme.

When Laura was caught faking an email from her “uncle” Joe, a renowned attorney, she claimed Greg hacked her email and sent it. (See page 7.)

When she was caught sending fake ultrasounds, she again claimed Greg had hacked her email and sent those as well.

At a certain point, you’d think changing the password would’ve been the obvious solution.
