On August 12th, City Council is voting on a data center. However, there are two more that the same group is wanting to build, and one might be next to your house.

To be clear, there is only one data center the city is officially voting on at this moment. We did some research on the developer and learned that they have plans to build more of them all over the country at their storage facilities, and they have two more listed in Marietta off of Canton Road and Powder Springs St.

The one on Powder Springs St is within walking distance of multiple subdivisions, and within 1/2 mile of Tumlin Park and Hickory Hills Elementary.

If this matters to you, make sure to email and call your council members and the mayor to let them know how you feel. If you're able to make it, show up to the city council meeting next Wednesday as well.

So about last night’s meeting.

We have good news!

The city of Marietta now has a data center moratorium until 2027 (doesnt effect bells or delk tho :/), and because of inadequate explanations from 3 buisnessmen that looked like the most stereotypical henchmen ever, their motion to approve the rezoning has been tabled for at least a month!
Deadass their best point was “well, someones not gonna pay as much as we will for your extra electric capicity!” What clowns. Cant wait for them to lose.

The fight is not over sadly, but this is a very good start!

Thank you to everyone who showed OUT for the past few meetings! Its been really nice seeing the community step up for each other! :)
See you next month to stop this once and for all! 💪🏻

EDIT: Forgot to mention Chris Conley was at the meeting so that was pretty cool too, Go Dawgs 🐾

2026 Games Beaten

Hard list to rank because half of these I think are amazing, as shown by celeste coming in 3rd. Will say the Pokémon games other than Ruby and Mario Bros Wii are reclaims of lost saves from childhood now that I bought the games back. Silksong just barely didnt make the list.

HELP OPPOSE DELK RD DATA CENTER FINAL VOTE 7/8/26

The planning commitee barely voted to advance the data center, 4-3. Thank you to all that showed up in opposition. We have another chance to stop this thing. We show up like last month or with even more people we can and will win. And if we for some reason do not, we start a recall petition for every single councilmember. LETS PULL UP MARIETTA AND BRING THIS THING DOWN ONCE AND FOR ALL. We might even get the other site taken down too.

HELP OPPOSE DELK ROAD DATA CENTER REZONING 7/1/26

Hi reddit, im unfortunately back to help warn of a new data center development in our lovely city. The bells ferry site is still dormant for now, however, another data center has been proposed. This time its located at 1155 Power’s Ferry Place, Z2026-12. We need to show UP at city hall and demand this rezoning request does not go through. This is how they attempted to sneak by the bells ferry site. We need to remind these council members that this is not a simple show up once and the public will forget. If they do not make the right decision, we may need to look into a recall.

This planning commision meeting is at 205 Lawrence Street, just like the previous City Council meeting. The start time is 5:30PM and the public hearing is at 6PM. This is on WEDNESDAY, JULY 1ST, 2026.

PULL UP AND LETS GET THING CANCELLED. SPREAD THE WORD 💪🏻🔥

Note: We need to go to the monthly city council meeting on July 8th as well to keep the pressure up to force a moratorium or outright ban, and while we are at it, get rid of the flock surveilance cameras too. 🔥

HELP OPPOSE THE SECRETIVE DATA CENTER ON BELLS FERRY 6/10.

As did the majority of you, I found out that there was a proposed data center approved in secret last year and is only not built yet because of Cobb County’s Moratorium on Data Centers until labor dayish. So I ask that anyone who can, helps us oppose this in the next town hall meeting for the Marietta City Council. It will be at 205 Lawrence Street at 7PM on Wednesday 6/10. We need to pack this place out! So please come if you can!

the link says Tuesday, it is Wednesday.
