Note: This is probably the most comfortable shoulder bag I have ever tried on. Can be used as a crossbody as well. Nice slouchy canvas. I am so happy! My amazing CA at the Scottsdale boutique, Audrey, received my most beloved bag back from Care Services this week and she arrived home today! At the beginning of the year I realized my classic Speedy 25 was starting to look a little too loved; the hole at the end tab where the lock goes was starting to tear and the leather around the rivet on the zipper pull was starting to give way. She was a special anniversary gift from my husband so I resisted sending her away as long as I could but when I realized I had stopped using her because I was afraid to make the damage worse I knew it was time to send her in. I sent Audrey pictures and told her what areas were showing major wear and we decided replacing both end tabs and the zipper pull was the way to go. Audrey promised me the replacement leather would match the beautiful patina on her handles; I definitely didn’t want her to look like a new bag. I love her history! Audrey sent me a shipping label and she went off to the store for a quote. After looking at her the repair cost was estimated to be $250: $50 for the new zipper pull and $100 each for the replacement end tabs. I was given a 4 to 6 week timeline for repairs (and it ended up being a month exactly).

I am so happy with how my Speedy turned out! The replacement leather looks wonderful with the handles and she was treated like a queen, arriving home in a new LV dust bag and box with a sweet note from Audrey. This bag holds so much sentimental value and having Audrey handle the repair process for me made it so much less stressful! I am lucky to have such a wonderful CA and if anyone is in Arizona and needs a CA please feel free to message me for her contact info. She just ordered the mono passport holder for me with the pondicherry pink accent (that pink is my new obsession) and is going to hot stamp it for me and send it along when it comes in since the store is over an hour away. She makes everything so easy (much to my husband’s dismay).

Here are some after (and before) pictures of my 25! Can you tell she has been repaired? While I was at it I also got a quote on a zipper replacement for my 1985 Speedy 35 ($295 from LV Care Services) but decided to send it to Cobbler Concierge for the replacement and to have D rings attached to the sides so I can use a shoulder strap on it (since it is a travel bag) for $350. I will let you know how that one turns out!

I admit defeat. Thanks to my tendency to acquire a ton of stuff that I must take with me everywhere I go this high tier, beautiful BNNU Speedy 20 is looking for a good home. The bundle includes the bag, an organizer that matches the red interior and the Speedy charm, all for $230 shipped (to the US). (The bag alone originally cost me $268 shipped.)

This is a Royal factory bag with untreated vachetta that now has the prefect toasty patina; the vachetta has been sprayed with Carbon Pro which will protect it from water spots and stains while allowing it to continue…patinaing? Patinating? Anyway, the leather will continue to patina. The canvas has a nice sheen, great alignment, good stamping…she is absolutely one of the best 20 reps I have ever seen.

I tried - I mean, I REALLY tried - to be a Murakami girl but sadly, I’m just not.

So this a BNNU Murakami bag (which, by the way, is one of the most comfortable shoulder carry bags I have ever tried on) is looking for a new home and someone who will take her out to enjoy the bright days of summer!

May I present to you the BNNU LV Carryall East West Murakami white from Old Cobbler. (Original cost was $275 + $11 shipping.) I spent hours looking for just the right canvas colour and shape and this was the closest I could find to the authentic. Lovely tone to the vachetta, great colour on the logos and nice supple canvas so she slouches a bit in the middle like she is supposed to. Adjustable strap so she can be a hand carry, shoulder or crossbody bag and it looks like it will hold a surprisingly large amount.

In addition to the Murakami White Carryall East West Bag and dust bag you will receive a bonus Murakami White Vivienne Bag Charm. (I always rehome bags with a charm. I love them and it alleviates some of my guilt to have to let them go.) The bundle is $245 shipped (including insurance).

For the first time in decades, I ACTUALLY WON SOMETHING! I was shocked when my name was picked in the recent Luxe Society giveaway. Thrilled, too, especially when I found out I had won a Liusheng factory nubuck suede Loewe puzzle bag! This was going to be an adventure.

I am an LV girl. I have authentic and reps bags and accessories (and a serious pouch obsession). I have always been true to the brand, never straying despite my love for the Hermès leather colours, the Chanel vanity I didn’t need but came t-h-i-s close to buying as a rehome post because of the darling stars on the logo, and loving those squishy Flamencos with the donut chain. (You just know by looking at them they must smell fabulous.)

So getting to actually see and feel a Loewe bag was pretty exciting for me. (Something no one in my family understood. At all.)

Weekly sent the bag off right away and it arrived in just a few days in perfect condition. I am including a ton of pictures because I examined this thing closely and now you can, too. It’s beautiful.

First thing that hit me: wow, what a nice dust bag. Loewe can teach LV a thing or two in this department! Lovely heavy fabric bag with a heavy drawstring, generous size with plenty of space for the bag…getting the Puzzle felt premium from the get go. Opening it up felt special.

Second thing that hit me: saddle shoes. The nubuck suede on this is the exact shade and has the same sturdy-but-super-high-quality feel of the saddle shoes I used to wear with my uniform at my Catholic girls’ high school. (A really expensive girls’ academy with really expensive uniforms.) The brown colour of the suede has such depth to it and is the perfect fall neutral; the suede itself is structured but soft and has just the right amount of nap. It has movement when you brush it but it never looks messy.

The silver hardware is low key and beautifully engraved, the zipper is top quality and the bag has little feet with a distinctive shape. They aren’t just functional, they are a design choice. Along with the feet, the style of the little side tag gives the bag a modern, elegant edge.

I was thoroughly impressed by this bag: the design, the construction quality (it absolutely looks top of the line designer), the gorgeous suede…Liusheng for the win! Now, will I actually use it? I don’t know. It doesn’t feel like me so i may find it good home in time. I do know that after getting up close and personal with my very first Loewe bag I will be paying more attention to their designs - and when I go to visit my sister in Spain I will be dragging her to the Loewe boutique so I can see everything they make in person!

So thank you, Weekly, Princess and the rest of the Luxe Society, for this experience (and the chance to finally win something again after 20+ years!).

Who knew I had hoarder tendencies? (My husband. He knew. So I promised I would clear some space in my Rep Shrine. Okay, it’s a bookcase, but you get the idea.)

It took me less than 10 seconds to decide what bag to share as my favorite bag when the challenge was issued; the LV Speedy has been my favorite since I bought my first one in 1989 and it is still my favorite now! I am especially partial to the classic monogram canvas. To me, it carries the history and legacy of LV. It is a classic will never, ever go out of style. (I mean, if it was good enough for Audrey Hepburn, it’s good enough for me…and you, too!)

The family portrait above is of an authentic Speedy 25 (from 2005), an authentic Speedy 35 (from 1985), a Royal Factory Speedy B 25 and in front, the baby, a rep Speedy B 20. Both of the reps came with untreated vachetta and looked naked when they arrived (especially compared to the vintage bags!) but a week or so sunbathing gave them a nice toasty colour. I love them all.

They have relatives, too, of course! I have a gorgeous MOQC P9 Speedy 25 Indigo (the photo doesn’t do her justice. I replaced her charm in front with a P9 side charm just because she is so perfect the one on the handle was just distracting from her beauty!). I also have both the black and white Catogram 2018 Speedy 30s on order! Do I need both? No, but I don’t have a Speedy 30 yet and chances are these will never be made again so I had definite FOMO. (I’m going to get either the black or white Neverfull, too, but I can’t decide which one to order. I can justify two Speedys (especially at $235 shipped, less than I paid for the mono reps) but not two Neverfulls so help me out and let me know which colour you think I should get!)
