Hey all,

Looking to get a decent home theater system set up at a modest budget ($500). I've been using my TV speakers and honestly it's not terrible for me but I've been interested in trying to get some real speakers. For reference I mainly watch shows/movies and PS5 gaming. This set up would go in my living room for now but I hope to eventually move them to basement for a theater room down there.

Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR646

Towers: Polk Audio TSx 440T

Surrounds: Polk Audio TSx 220B

Center: Polk Audio TSx 150C

Subwoofer: Polk Audio PSW100 (I think)

I know the receiver is kind of old and won't support PS5 passthrough so I'm planning to use HDMI to ARC to receiver for now. Maybe upgrade that later. I've seen the sub is not a big fan of these cheaper polk subwoofers as well.

Do the center/towers/surround offset the negatives of the older receiver and sub par sub?

Thanks for the insight!
