Living apart but nearby - how often is "normal" to see a partner? 42F & 46F
I am a 42F dating a 46F. We have been together for nearly 2 years. We do not live together for various reasons, one being my partner has 2 school-age children and another being I need my own space for personal reasons (musician, need to be loud & spread out equipment). We live within 1 mile of each other. We usually spend every weekend together with few exceptions from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, child-free while they visit their other parent.
I am feeling pressured by my partner to spend more time together. However, after work I am beat and need to do house stuff, eat dinner, and get ready for the next day. I also don't have weekends to do project-type things now since every weekend is spent with my partner. I need to squeeze everything, including personal hobbies, into weeknights.
This is the first time I've dated someone that I did not move in with after 6 months, so it is relatively new territory for me to navigate. How often is a "normal" amount of time to see a significant other that you do not live with to keep the peace and sanity for both parties?
