Still haven't received my E1, but I'm closely following the developments and experiences of the people that refill their cartridges. However, I haven't seen a way to reset the cartridge's chip. It supposedly contains the expiry date, so I guess you have to eventually buy cartridges anyway..

So here's a call to my fellow german makers: Send me a few empty cartridges, so I can look into reverse engineering that marker chip. Chat's open!

To my knowledge, nobody has shown any work in this regard. If someone's working on this, let me know in the replies!

I would like to use the E1 for printing small color coded labels onto things like connectors and housings. Technical stuff. I looked at the resolution and it seems to be about half of what a laser printer can do, which would be good enough. But I also saw fuzzy looking print details in youtube videos, so I was wondering: What's the smallest font size the E1 can legibly print (that looks professional)? I'm talking single-digit millimeters range...
