The Ravager [Custom Slugcat]

The Ravager [Custom Slugcat]

Hey everyone, Ive been invested into rain world, like 140 kinda invested. I’ve been hooked that I want to make a custom Slugcat mod project called The Ravager, and I finally got his character.json working and his visual design put together in Dress My Slugcat. He’s designed to be an absolute powerhouse built for a hyper-aggressive playstyle. also I am Looking for advice or assistance with coding. and dvice and sprites and like Exporting Ravager's design. The Base JSON stats that I configured {

"id": "theravager",

"name": "The Ravager",

"description": "An apex predator with a biological lust for combat.Stand your ground as you fight amongst the fiercest predators the ecosystem has developed into, pierce the unbreakable, and fuel the fury.",

"features": {

"start_room": "CC_A10",

"world_state": "Red",

"color": [0.3, 0.1, 0.5],

"food_min": 16,

"food_max": 18,

"spear_damage": 1.5,

"throw_skill": 2.5,

"can_maul": true,

"back_spear": true,

"walk_speed": 1.5,

"climb_speed": 1.5,

"diet": {

"base": "Red",

"corpses": 1.0

}

}

}

He would have 2-3 hp, the most of any slugcat. which I think theoretically can survive a hit at most from a spear and stuff might now insta kill you. Heavy spear throws is one of Ravager's abilities, hold the throw button for a heavy throw. 2 second charge time with a slight movement decrease that goes down with each buff. Heavy throws also pierces through lizard heads and red centipede armors. It comes at the cost of the spear breaking. Thats not the only thing you can do. you can also Heavy Spear Boost. By holding the throw button and releasing mid air causes you to be boosted to whatever direction of your choice, both Horizontal and Vertical, This movement should make up for Ravager's low base speed early on. Maul isn’t really gonna be its special ability its gonna be a built in perk. Ravager by default carry large predators with no penalties. :D

Ravager would also have loose skin (like honey badgers). Ifa lizard grabs you, it’s usually game over as it drags you to its den. With loose skin, The Ravager could have a unique escape window. Even while being carried, it could twist around lizard's jaw to force a release. This skin would make it much harder for Pole Plants or Monster Kelp to get a firm grip. It might "slip" through their grasp or take longer to be pulled under, giving you more time to react. Lethal bites are significantly lowered (Including Red Lizards). Because of it's sturdy skin or high muscle density, The Ravager is not built for the water. It sinks much faster than other slugcats. Its breath meter might be lower because its heavy muscles consume oxygen quickly. So imagine going to Shoreline or Drainage System :)

Ravager would have insanely high food pips, around 16-18 (might be too generous tho).

Ravager would actually have a below average base speed (probably around monk or slightly lowered, but thats where his main Buff shines. He gets this perk called Berserker’s Fury, after successfully kill or mauling, a buff is given which increases your movement speed up to 3x, the first stack lasts for 30 second, then stacks another 45 seconds and the third stack a whole minute. Further kills or Mauls doesn’t stack higher but it does increases the duration by 15 seconds with a 4 minute duration cap Killing small things like batflies or or any smaller prey won't trigger the 3x speed. "Metabolic Crash" (Post-Fury Exhaustion)

Maintaining 3x buff takes a massive toll on a biological body.

Drawback: If the Berserker's Fury timer runs out before you reach a shelter or get another kill, The Ravager enters an "Exhausted" state.

For about 15–20 seconds after the buff fades, your speed drops significantly, and your jump height is halved. You become incredibly vulnerable if you don't chain your kills correctly.

This forces you to engage with the "Competitive Predator" ecosystem**.** To get that speed, you must face something that can kill you back. This turns every cycle into a quest for a "worthy opponent" right out of the get go.

As for Ravager's campaign. His goal or motive isn't to ascend to escape the cycle, no. HE thrives in the cycles, that its instinct is to hunt and kill larger things feels like a motive to Ravager.

So yeah. thats Ravager for you. What do you think I would love get feedback and thoughts on this slucat. Any Advice or help with coding, health, the mechanics, dialogue etc would be really appreciated. Thanks for reading
