A but more of an advanced question, but I've been having some funny hesitations when taking off from a stop, pretty aggressive hunting on cold start and some funny gearbox behaviour like laggy shifts or shift hesitations.

According to what bimmerlink is telling me is that my VVT motor is drawing more than 10A sometimes getting up to above 50A. From my understanding the motor should only be drawing less than 10A.

Before a go and blow 150AUD on a new motor what else should I check to troubleshoot further?

Any info if needed: 2011 BMW E90 323i N52B25AE, GM 6L-45.
