Guy pursued hard, called me “rare,” wanted me over constantly… then said “no chemistry” right after intimacy. Men of Reddit: what happened here?
Matched with a guy in January and we connected really fast. Conversation flowed naturally right away, he told me I was “rare,” “too good to be true,” and checked a lot of boxes for him. We had a great first date and kept texting constantly afterward. He repeatedly invited me over during the week and seemed very eager to see me again.
Eventually I went over, we talked for hours, drank a bit, made out, and were intimate. He had some performance issues but still continued being affectionate/cuddly afterward. The next day though, he suddenly told me he felt “no chemistry,” which completely blindsided me based on how he’d acted before.
A few days later he softened it with “we can still talk,” later checked in to congratulate me on a new job, and has continued occasionally viewing my public Snapchat stories over the last few months. We now work at the same company and recently saw each other again at a staff meeting — he acknowledged me but was very reserved/contained.
From a guy’s perspective: what does this dynamic sound like? Genuine interest that fizzled after intimacy? Emotional avoidance/insecurity? Loss of attraction? I’m trying to understand how someone can seem so interested and then abruptly pull away.
