[Serious] With 120k budget and preferring an SUV

Maybe 10 years ago, you’d be looking at a Toyota or a Honda. With the introduction of E.mas 7 PHEV, and all the DNGA shenanigans, along with getting a C-Segment in proton vs B-segment in Japanese cars

Is there any reason at all to look at Japan cars aside from brand trust and “maybe” reliability?

Edit: preferring a hybrid vehicle atm

Is is impossible for Mechanical Design Engineers to have work-life balance?

I (M27) have been working in this role for 3 different companies. Ngl, I have a knack and talent for designing processes and machineries and I do enjoy the work quite a bit. However, I also enjoy my time outside of work. Family, hobbies and just learning new stuff

I worked for 2 MNCs and 1 fast growing startup. All of them seem to always have new projects scheduled requiring mechanical engineers' designs at the end of every project. It doesn't matter how fast I get my jobs done; they will always have another one stacked at the end of my previous project. Since mechanical engineers are usually needed on site, I'd have to come in on weekends too

Currently looking into converting into positions that allow for remote work such as UX designers or CS related stuff. Really feels like it's a shame that all of my experiences in the field that I love are like this

Is there anyone working in Mech Design actually having work-life balance?
