Tired of not knowing if your backyard project needs council approval? Built a free tool that answers it in 60 seconds

If you're in Australia and planning a shed, carport, deck or pergola, working out whether you need council approval is a nightmare. The rules vary by state and the information is scattered everywhere. I built a free tool that asks you a few simple questions and gives you a straight answer based on your state's exempt development rules. Also pulls up your specific council's details so you know exactly where to go if you need to take it further. Free, no signup. www.councilchecker.com.au

Does anyone know a quick way to check if your backyard shed or deck needs council approval? I couldn't find one so I made this

Has anyone else struggled to figure out whether their backyard project needs council approval? I spent ages trying to work out the rules for a shed in NSW and the information was all over the place.

I ended up building a simple tool to help. You pick your state, answer a few questions about your structure, and it tells you whether you need approval or not. Covers all 8 states. It's free, no signup: www.councilchecker.com.au

Would love to know if it's actually useful or if I've missed anything for your state.
