My apartment feels off
My boyfriend and I just moved into our first place together. We're young and broke (I'm still in college, he just finished his degree), so we got a lot of our stuff secondhand. We're trying to save money, so we don't want to spend a whole lot on decorations and furniture.
We plan to get a new rug for under the dining table, matching frames for the little gallery around the clock, something to fill that little gap on the shelf wall above the couch, and eventually a rug to break up the grey carpet/couch thing going on. I just don't know what to get.
But I feel like nothing is really fitting together. I don't know where to place things, or if I need to do a little DIY to upgrade them, or whatever else I can do to make everything feel a little more cohesive.
I want our space to still feel very homey, but I also want it to be more modern and a little trendy! Right now it just feels like a hodgepodge of hand-me-downs.
(Normally don't have the pillows on the couch like that, but part of the couch broke so we're using the pillows as a reminder not to sit there lol)
