Dungeoneering update, the ugly and the beautiful
This is based from my experience with the new update, doing dungeoneering for about 8 hours yesterday, in solo and in a group of 4. I understand this experience might differ from player to player.
The ugly;
They wanted to make it more solo friendly, but; my solo xp rates are actually worse than before the update at 85 dungeoneering. It is also very dependant on how fast I can locate the boss room, which is mostly RNG. I'm not at all a good dungeoneer player, completing a large solo takes me abt 20 minutes, give or take and I get about 45k xp give or take.
They wanted us to use the skilling bit of the floors more, but; the xp rewards are not worth the time you lose completing the floor. There are also simply no incentives to skilling inside the dungeon.
They wanted to remove rushing floors and explore the dungeons, but; the goal is still to rush to the boss and kill him asap on every single floor, from floor 1 to 60, solo or in a party. The xp rewards for opening all rooms and killing enough monsters for the 10% is not at all worth it.
The beautiful;
the graphical remaster is nice, although color seems a bit too saturated, making some things hard to spot (monsters and door specifically).
The token increase to 20% is amazing, this does actually motivate me to do classic dungeoneering floors compared to ED's or archeology collections.
The minimap indicators are a huge and massive QoL. No more writing down key locations or mousing over doors to see what key you need from afar.
the news items are ok I guess, the weapons are locked behind high level bosses, which is fine. It is T90 after all.
All in all I feel this update is a missed chance to actually change how we engage with the dungeoneering in Deamonheim. Skilling, killing and exploring are still simply completely irrelevant. Rush, rush, rush to the boss and rinse repeat. This gets old very quickly and will lead to dungeoneering still being mostly dead content players don't want to engage with. The 20% token reward will at least keep some activity standing I guess.
