I’ve always backed biopics and gone to see them, like the ones about Ray Charles, Queen, Amy Winehouse, etc… But the Michael one really hits different. It’s been a total MASTERPIECE.
The only “downside” was the huge time jumps, but honestly, knowing the cuts they had to make and the legal mess they got into, there’s nothing to complain about. Plus, if there’s gonna be a Part 2… and even a 4-hour full version??? I don’t know, I’m not super up to date and I don’t really dive into social media that much.
But, WOW, Jaafar was incredible, and Juliano too, he just should’ve had more screen time in the movie, in my opinion. But they absolutely nailed it. The performances, everything… so much happened, and they really knew how to fit it all in. They changed a few things to strengthen the narrative, like in a lot of biopics, right?
And I love that they finally made this movie happen, it was really needed, especially so younger generations who only recognize Michael can actually get to know him, understand the context of his life and everything that happened. I think movies like this are amazing and one of the best ways for new generations to start getting into the legends from back in the day… if that makes sense.
Michael Jackson is a LEGEND.
