reimagining michael jackson through painting and fashion illustration
hi everyone, i’m new to reddit, and this is my first post here.
my name is artsem pruski. i’m a russian artist currently living in poland. i’ve been creating paintings and illustrations for many years, and my work is deeply connected to the things i love: fashion, style, retro culture, video games, and of course, michael jackson.
i work in two main directions. i paint with oils, and i also create digital fashion illustrations on my ipad exclusively in procreate.
when i work with oils, i paint only in impasto and use a palette knife. i really love this technique because it allows me to create a very physical, almost sculptural surface and achieve an incredible level of detail through the texture and volume of the paint.
in my digital work, i try to reinterpret michael jackson as a pop icon through my own fashion-focused style and visual language. i create illustrations of michael alongside different celebrities, always trying to show him through my own perspective and artistic style.
i love fashion, style, gta, music, old-school visual aesthetics, and retro culture in general. i’m completely immersed in that world, and it still inspires the way i live and create today.
that’s why i love combining music, fashion, pop culture, nostalgia, and my own artistic language in my work.
i’ll attach several of my michael oil paintings, as well as some of my fashion illustrations featuring michael and other well-known figures.
