Mfs in the comments are really falling for these fake bts videos
Stop putting Jaafars face on Michael! And don’t blindly believe every “leak” or footage without doing your own research please

In this interview he states that YES he was singing out loud while recording scenes because it’d look more believable on screen rather than just silently miming along to the song BUT he’s not sure how his vocals were mixed on the final film. That was left for the post production team to decide.
They would then have him record extra adlibs or some words to sprinkle in and that was the “blending” of voices to help make it more convincing.
He then states that the quieter acapella scenes were all him. This includes : Home studio beatboxing WBSS and Beat It and humming the melody of Smile.
Jaafars acapellas in the film are easily distinguishable from Michael’s in the movie if you’re familiar with Michael’s voice and songs. The Pepsi song being the only one he fully sang himself.
There are many people who think Michael’s and Jaafars vocals were layered on top of each other but I really don’t think that was the case here.
If there is any information that confirms otherwise lmk
That’s is neither Michael or Jaafar
Off the wall, Grammys, Thriller and Victory Tour
The whole composition of the picture, the people “behind the glass”, the mixing board facing the wrong way, the cables going nowhere. IMO it screams ai but I need confirmation.
Quarter view could’ve been better but I got impatient.
Can’t wait to see how the team pulls off this look in the movie tho.
It looks like some uncanny wax figure of MJ. Obviously it isn’t him. Getty says this was in NYC January 1 1986. At this date MJ was in Hayvenhurst recording Smooth Criminal.
Does anyone know what impersonator this is?
The last image is what Mike looked like at that time.
There are certain scenes where it’s obviously ADR voice over bc of script changes I would assume. I thought they would’ve fixed the audio mixing for these scenes for the digital release but they’re the same as in the theater.
The one scene that stands out to me the most is where Michael asks Branca how much they made from the Pepsi commercial at the hospital. You can clearly tell in was filmed in a booth not on location bc the mic quality changes drastically and then switches back to on location recording.
No Al! Just liquify, blending and some drawing
-More accurate zombie prosthetic shapes
-Took some volume off the wig and added looser curls to second image
-Shortened and squared his jaw on first image
-touched up his eyebrows so they weren't so sharp in 2nd slide
-More accurate nose
I’ll try finding more HD behind the scenes images to edit or just HD stills to edit too

On second slide I made his eyebrows thicker
Jaafar did the beatboxing, sang Smile and some of the beginning of DSTYGE. 95% of the rest of the singing, including live performances, were all Michael with a word or two being Jaafar.
I get that they said that they “mixed” their voices but I don’t believe they actually blended them together.
I say History and not Dangerous bc he’s wearing Comos and not penny loafers. He wore penny loafers for 90% of the dangerous tour so I’m convinced this is History. But then again, this costume designer doesn’t look much into details so I could be wrong.
