Rear End Collision

Be careful out there, I got lucky. Happened 2 weeks ago:

It was crazy I was in the far right lane of a parkway riding for about 2 miles, no one behind me, then the moment I decided to merge over to the left hand turning lane, this old grandma comes hauling ass up from behind blasting on the horn for a good 30 seconds, she seriously laid on the horn so long I thought she had passed me.

When I looked behind me to switch lanes and get ready to try and turn left no cars were there in sight. Then blam, fortunately she had slowed down enough for her passenger front fender to just tap my legs and when that happened I laid on the hood and after we came to a quick stop I rolled off and caught myself with my right hand.

No serious injuries, just jarred my shoulder a little bit and no damage to her car or my board. LMAO She asked if everything was okay I said yes no damage at all you can look if you want, and I walked 15 to 20 feet up ahead to grab my board and get it out of traffic then when I got back to the car she slapped the crap out of her fender. Dunno what for, it wasn't dislodged or anything.

I didn't ask for any info cause any wreck you can get up and easily walk away from is a good one, plus I didn't wanna give her any extra grief and then have to go through the whole entire fiasco of a song and dance with the police and me siting Georgia's low speed vehicle law to a uninformed cop.

Make sure you got a whole lot more time and then some to clear yourself when crossing to make a turn, if ya plan on going with the flow of traffic instead of via a crosswalk.

Right of Way (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-73): When entering a roadway or merging into traffic from an on-ramp, LSV drivers must yield to vehicles already traveling on the highway.

Turning Laws (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-120) Approach & Execution: You must approach a left turn from the extreme left-hand lane. When turning, exit the intersection into the extreme left-hand lane of the new roadway.

General LSV Restrictions (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-361) Full Use of a Lane: Under Georgia Code § 40-6-361, LSVs are entitled to full use of a lane, but they are not permitted to weave between lanes, overtake other vehicles within the same lane, or travel two or more abreast.

Been Putting The Miles On

Yesterday my B-One Titan x Carbon really surprised me, I mainly kept it in second speed most of the trip and this is what I got.

Waa testing out new 345-5m-15 belts off Amazon and was a little weary because of how I had to roll the belt onto the gears, but all is good

Needless to say I weigh 100 more pounds than the board, so that probably helps too! 🤗 .

The Difference

If a ladybug lands on you and is good luck, then therefore if a stinkbug lands on you is it bad luck?

Feels Sketchy Now

If anyones rode a Maxfind FF Belt then ya definitely know.

Now that my B-One Titan X Carbon is out of commission until the new belts come on, I been riding the old FF Belt.

It's bouncy trampoline plastic deck feels sketchy all of a sudden after riding the Titan continuously for a minute and then switching back up again.

Can't lie though the FF Belt's deck is super comfy on the feet and soles.

But getting up to 28 to 32mph and going over bumps, cracks and uneven spots in the road with that flexible deck you suddenly feel it more, not like a speed wobble though.

What's crazy isy Exway X1 Max deck is just as stiff as the Titan, but it didn't dawn on me then yet how the FF Belt felt on comparison.

For those who ride belt driven, are there any unaffiliated or out sourced belt sites that you've bought belts from instead of an esk8 site selling them as a proprietary part and gouging the price with such claims?

For example like https://vbeltguys.com

Okay today I had some fun and encouraging interactions.

I was taking a new route and stopped at a redlight and had a local motorcyclist who I must've crossed paths with some other time unknowingly in traffic, give a friendly tute tute as he drove by at the intersection.

I sort of look at Motorcyclist, EUC'ers, eBikers, escooties and esk8ers all in the same family of riders on the road: the butt ass naked and vulnerable no protection inside a metal cage group!

Then the funny one was stupid google maps wanted to alert me at the very last moment to make a right hand turn causing me to have to make a wide sharp right and it had one of those divider islands for right turns, but it never alerted me then and I had a mom and her child coming the other way head on at me, so I gave her a friendly wave and pointed to the right and as soon as I got across and was in a gore section I slowed and waved for her to go on ahead and pass me, which I'll typically do when I have drivers behind me who are unsure of whether or not to pass, I'll wave them ahead with my left hand low to my hip wide open or maybe pointing index finger and then give them a thumbs up, because I don't wanna hold up traffic and I know they're uncertain of if I'm aware of them or afraid they might disrupt my balance.

So always good to be courteous and conscieneuos of that.

It was funny though the mom slowed down smiling really big and said "I'm glad to see you know what you're doing" I just laughed and said "Right, stupid gps waited until last moment to alert me, sorry bout that" and she drove off.

Or the other traffic picker uppers is getting friendly thankful honks from big dump trucks or 18 wheelers and tractor trailers, when I sense them coming and get out of the way for them while keeping momentum and signal the good to go ahead for them to pass me.

It's funny here in Dekalb, Gwinnett and Fulton I've only met four other esk8er's, one was a chic which was awesome and another pulled over and gave me a ride home when I was a mile and a half away from my house with a dead battery and no charger.

Okay so I bought a slightly used B-One Titan Carbon at a local pawn shop for $430.

I'm trying to figure what brand the wheels are they seem to be CNC which is very nice as opposed to having basic PU wheels.

Asked Google what wheels are shipped with it by default it states 120mm cloudwheels, though these are 165mm.

Looking up Meepo 165mm cyclone all terrain CNC I don't see the same rim.

Definitely like these after my bad experience with cloudwheels and the pu core explosion that nortiously happens when the material is stored in the wrong environment and conditions.

I really do wish or hope eventually remotes and esc's bring in the option to disable reverse on a double click.

Sneaky fucker caught me off guard twice in one week on my B-One and my double clicking to skip first and go right into second from third gear.

I keep forgetting a quick double click enables reserve, but why in tf is there even a reverse there in the first place, or why not make harder to get to, like a quadruple click or a long press.

LMAO SMH

Funny thing is Maxfind FF Belt and B-One Titan Carbon use basically the same remote same interface and all but reverse never caught me off guard on the FF Belt, just for some dumb reason powering the board on it always wanted to start in reverse.

For me typically on the far right side of the white line on the curb.

Sometimes on little three lane roads with the middle lane being a turning lane, I'll ride there because that way I'm not a distraction for cars trying to carefully pass, also having a full wide open lane is safer if you fall as opposed to risking falling and landing in front of a vehicle behind you, and it's easy enough to maneuver around an oncoming car that's turning.

In Georgia we have the low powered vehicle law, which permits riding on sidewalks if the speed exceeds 35mph, but if the board goes over 20mph states you must ride on the road.

There's a few nice areas where you'll have 3 feet wide space to the right of the white curb line, which I wish more roads had.

Sidewalks are just too damned unpredictable for me you get on one and it'll continue to the next block or intersection and is just gone not there anymore which is annoying.

This new mode I accidentally discovered that shows up with a T if you triple press the speed button, my indicate turbo mode but what's odd about it is there's no speed difference change that I've seen yet and it can show up on first second or third speed. Almost like 3 extra speeds, looking into a manual on the website it doesn't say anything about that "T" indicator at all. So idk what it is. Tried yesterday, but I think my battery was too drained to notice a difference.

For my B-one Titan Carbon

Some require upgrading the esc which I've never done anything technical to a board before, the most advanced I've gotten was mechanically swapping wheels and belts

But the oem original remote as many owners have stated has a lower grade Bluetooth which makes it super sensitive and lose connection constantly, almost every other 15 to 30 seconds it's disconnecting and reconnecting.

I seen

  1. Hobbywing OLED Remote

  2. Ownboard Remote

  3. Lycaon Higher-Gen Remote

  4. Linnpower Remote

  5. Flipsky Remote

Are all compatible

So I'm asking or bringing this up here to see if any users have advice or recommendations

I'd prefer to not have to upgrade the esc and simplest route.
