App still broken? Missing goals? Don't have the event? Here's a bandaid fix

When I updated my app earlier in the month, 95% of my goals went missing. Everything I rely on to remember to do basic things each day, gone. I'm having a lot of health problems right now, so it was a very bad time to lose access to something I rely on so much.
They hadn't been deleted, but they aren't showing. Nothing I did to try to get them back worked - and I did a lot of trouble shooting just in case something worked.
but I did find a bandaid fix.
This is for android, I don't know how to use Apple - if you do know how to do this for iphone, please share.

  1. You need to back up your birb (manually) at least twice, the save files are getting corrupted a lot so do at least two back ups for safety. I created 3 save files for safety.
  2. Then you go find an APK of an older version. Version 3.73.159 - apkmirror has it but you do need to use their installer.
  3. Uninstall the current version of Finch,
  4. Download Version 3.73.159 and follow the install instructions, you will need to allow installs from places other than the playstore. There should be a pop-up directing you to the toggle you need to change.
  5. Load your save file
  6. If you get the error of the event not loading, exit finch, turn your wifi off so it is mobile data only, open Finch. It should be fixed. Turn your Wifi back on. You only need to do this once.
  7. Go to the play store, bring up the Finch page and turn off auto-updates - it will try to update even though you didn't download from there.

You now have a working version of the app, your goals will be there and you will have the current event. If you have Plus, it will still be there. What you have is simply a slightly older version of the app from before things were broken.
Bonus: It has the old layout of saved outfits.

Please note, there are no modifications, it is simply loading an older version of the app so people have a functioning app while they (hopefully) work on a fix
