Writing my experience in case it helps a mom out there :)

At my 4m visit to the pediatrician, our Dr. strongly recommended seeing Cranial Technologies for a helmet. After some research, I decided to see a pediatric neurosurgeon, who also makes helmets. Even though I never been and could be very wrong in my assumption, I thought going to Crania Technologies I would just be sold a helmet and not educated in how to prevent one. After visiting the surgeon, I had three take aways 1) going there confirmed that his head shape did not danger is brain 2) they would not recommend a helmet until the baby can sit up and hold his head with the helmet 3) the dr will never recommend a helmet unless it was medically necessary.

After the appointment, I put my focus on working with my baby to gain strength to roll over. I figured if he rolls over he will spend less time on his head while he is awake and hopefully when he sleeps (most babies prefer belly sleep once they are able). in a few weeks he rolled over and thankfully slept on his belly. Through the next months, his head started to reform. Now At 9.5 month his head is round and very very mild Area where is was flat.

I am not against helmets what’s so ever! But since I figured we had a few months until he actually could physically wear one, I thought why not try this! After the pediatrician I struggled a lot emotionally , non stop googling and seeing people’s experiences. not everyone is the same but hoping this helps ease a moms mind!
