[DITOEFTV] People hating Penelope for bring a slave owner

I recently came across a review regarding Penelope's character in the series and how she's evil for being a slave owner and some of the actions she commits in the novel.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CharacterRant/comments/1kw1hxz/stop_trying_to_justify_penelope_being_a_slave/

If you go through the comments, many of the people who support her state, yes she's evil and the reader is supposed to enjoy a morally blackish grey character (like Walter White in Breaking Bad) or The Villainess Turns the Hourglass (where people state Aria was too hard on the cousin for something she didn't do)

Some of the better comments are basically "When in Rome" - like if you were in a life or death situation like her, most people would do the same out of self preservation and stuff like that.

But I haven't seen the most important defense point for Penelope's reason to do all these borderline morally black stuff.

Its that in the back of her mind, she thinks that this might all just be a game.

Like, just look at the system she was given in the beginning. She literally had to make 'Choose your action from these three options' like the Otome game.

The MLs all have Love Factors on the top of their heads.

She basically gets all the perks someone playing a VIDEO GAME would have.

She can basically become a pro at archery and magic temporary like a game character would.

She even literally has a money based system in it.

If I were in a situation like that, with all these game elements around me, no matter how real it all feels, I think there will always be that voice in mind saying 'Is this real? Or did someone just put me inside a very real feeling VR?'

And for every new game element, there would be some sort of validation in my head, that maybe this actually is just a video game.

Now to answer the question, no gamer cares if they need to torch a village in their video game, bcuz to them its just a game.

Even her final goal, unlike FLs in other OIs who choose to create a life in the worlds they get isekaied to, hers is to go back home. She's not planning on staying until like the end or middle end.

This is why I think its excusable for Penelope towards actions like Buying a slave, bcuz essentially to her, this might actually just be a game.

Final year and feeling really lost rn

I am in my 5th yr now, and feeling so lost.

I really tried to get into coding and honestly, I feel like it might not be for me. Don't any proper internship and my cg is 7+. I did qualify for GATE, so have that for 5th yr.

Should I prepare for PM or core roles now. Is it possible to do that in just 3 months?

Or just grind DSA and hope for the best?

Or should I start studying for CAT?

Like I just don't know what to do now.

Currently in my final year of college and feeling hopeless

I got into a 5 yr course at a Tier-1 engineering college (Mining Engineering Dual Degree - like geology mining, not data mining).

Honestly, after JEE I felt really burnt out and couldn't focus on studying at all. I tried my hands at coding and stuff, but honestly I HATED IT.

I am in my 5th year now with no proper internships or skills, and feeling hopeless, especially since my college's placement process starts in september.

I don't think I can get into my core bcuz my CG is just 7+, okay enough but not all that great. I am honestly not sure if I can get into my core branch since I mostly just learned the courses enough to pass.

I am now wondering if I should go do an MBA or try to quickly get skills in a product manager role.

But honestly, from what I have heard even those need you to do coding a bit, and I really don't want to do that right now.

I can try a product manager role, but am not sure if I can gain enough skills in this little time to land a decent job especially with no internship exp.

I though about trying an MBA, but my sister recently did hers, so my family already has some debt for that now and I don't know if I should try it.

I can focus on CAT though and I think I am smart enough to get a good enough college but I am not sure if an MBA degree is even worth it right now, considering the whole AI thing. Not to mention, I am a little introverted, and know you have to be very outgoing to do good in MBA.

Even govt exams, like I have heard stories of people spending 5-6 years trying to crack UPSC and honestly not sure if I wanna waste that amount of time, considering history and geography were my least favourite subjects in school.

Well, what I am looking for is, should I go into a different stream completely? If yes, what should I even try to do that would land me a stable job right now. I am smart enough to focus on something provided I have interest in it, but I don't know what to do.

Feeling really lost.

I'm looking for realistic options of what I can do and study that will give me an actual job later in life.

Also If a PM role is possible to learn in a few months, please tell me what should I do?

Any hidden gem fantasy/sci fi with superpowers (X-men types) series that had a proper ending

I have seen so many fantasy shows where the show was axed at a cliffhanger or still not completed, and am looking for one that actually got an ending.

It doesn't have to be full on super power fights, but a constant use of something like premonition or telekenisis like Manifest is preferred.

I'm also not asking for super popular shows like Supernatural, Lucifer, Dark, Sandman, ones like that.

Dealbreaker: Needs to have a proper ending.

Going through many of the posts like the debate over Garp and the good marine characters, people always defend them saying that the marines are needed to maintain world peace, bcuz not every pirate is Luffy and most are the destroying type like Blackbeard.

While yes, criminals will exist in every society, I do think the number of pirates would have been far less than the ones already there precisely if the World Govt was not there. If you look at the past of many of the pirates that were antagonists like Arlong, King - the reason they turned towards piracy was bcuz of the cruelty the WG commited against. Even the better pirates like Kuma and Boa were a result of the WG.

Now with the amount of slaves the CDs just take willy-nilly, you can assume that a lot of their family decided to become pirates to rebel towards a govt that took away their families for literally no reason.

Add to that the no of islands that can't pay the Heavenly tribute cuz they are too poor, and many of the marines take that as a reason to be cruel to them (Whitebeard's hometown for example), you can easily understand how many people the CDs have pissed off and out of them many would just choose to fight the WG.

Basically, the marines fighting pirates seems less like protecting justice and more them doing damage control and cleaning up the CDs' messes.

And before anybody says that marines can't be cruel - they killed thousands of pregnant women and newborn children just to kill Ace.

Not to mention, most of the times the Navy is useless against pirate since the Govt has made deals with them like Crocodile n Doflamingo.

The Navy is definitely not holding any sort of justice in the world, as it is now.

Edit: Not to mention, the WG is not even protecting ALL the islands (only like 170), just the ones that pay Heavenly tribute. There are countless islands were the Navy would never help.

And even the kingdoms that pay it, some of them use their citizens as slaves like the Goa Kingdom and Sorbet Kingdom
