How can my dad assimilate in Dehradun

I need help understanding how my dad can assimilate and form a social circle here in Dehradun.

For context:

  1. He’s 66 y/o.
  2. Both my parents moved here from Delhi a few months ago. We live on the outskirts, around 30 minutes from IMA (towards Sudhowala)
  3. Both my sisters are in US/UK, I’m in Blr, I visit once in 1-2 months.
  4. Our area is a bit sparsely populated. There are lots of plots that are getting picked, 1-2 are getting constructed, but not a lot of people here right now.

He used to have a construction business back in Delhi which has obviously gotten quite inactive since we moved here. It’s the retiree life now. Now due to:

  1. The sudden stoppage of work.
  2. Loss of all social systems he had made in the last 66 years
He’s feeling very weird here. He’s moved from a social + professional life to a very sparse area. There are some locals around us and we have some relations with them, but the ratio is skewed towards younger people, and they all call him “uncle”, not a friend.

How do I help him? I looked at the Dehradun club, but Rajpur Road is like 1-1.5 hours from here in average traffic. I found this Elantis Club near IMA that I’m going to check out, but I’m sure there would be more places for him to interact with people his age, and find some friends. In Delhi your job circles, sports complexes, district parks, all of these could have solved this. I’m open to any and all kind of suggestions.
