I got my Goldwing back and it’s now running like a champ! The plug to the CDI unit was halfway off causing it to loose spark. Now I just have to get the aftermarket lights all working, fix the small oil leak near the starter, and fix the small leak in the rear air suspension system and it’ll be prefect!
I’ve only had it for a week and already love her! She’s a 2008 CRV EX, rides like a dream and no rust! I think I got a pretty good deal too, $3300 with 173000 miles and only 1 issue, AC clutch doesn’t seem to engage. I do have to do a bit of paint correction due to it having some acid rain damage in the clear coat, but to me she’s already beautiful!
I have an 86 GL1200 that will randomly loose spark to cylinders 1 and 2. Warm or cold doesn’t matter, one day it’ll run perfectly the whole day, next morning it’ll run on half cylinders and if you try to ride it it’ll surge, come back to life and run fine and ether stay good or go back to running really bad, other days it’ll start and run fine, then after it sits it won’t want to start and stay running or will stall out when going down the road and loudly back firing. . The video shows how it can run normally, the other shows how it is when it acts up.
Is there a way to inspect the timing belt on an 86 Goldwing without removing the radiator? I bought an 86 GL1200A with 53000 miles on it, the guy I bought it off of barely rode it, he bought it with 47000 miles back in 2012 and he doesn’t remember if he has ever changed the belt, he thinks he did but isn’t 100% sure.
Hi all, I’m in need of some help. I took the carbs off, cleaned them and installed them back on and now the carbs are not getting any fuel, the fuel pump is doing very little and is not putting out a lot of fuel, and doesn’t seem like it’s priming the carbs at all. Has anyone ran into this issue, I’m not sure if the pump is only supposed to do a single spray when the starter button is pressed? Thank you for all your help!
Hi all, I just bought a 1986 Honda Goldwing GL1200A. I need help with figuring out a few things, the main ones being it has a fuel leak that I can’t seem to find, it looks like it’s coming from the center of the intake but might be coming from the right front carb. The leak went away went I cut off the fuel, and came back when I switched it back on, it also idles high when the fuel is on almost like it’s getting extra fuel. It also has no brake pressure to the foot brake, the hand brake works as it should. And the last major issue is an oil leak from the shifter shaft. I’m sure others have had similar problems and I would love to hear how they had fixed their bikes in the past.
I’ve been looking for saddle bags for my bike and can’t seem to find much. I’m not sure if universal bags would work on it and the stock ones I’ve found cost an arm and a leg, plus don’t even come with the brackets that also cost an arm and a leg. Any help on if I’m just not looking in the right places or if a universal throw over bags would work is greatly appreciated!
