Messed up and Need advice please

I accidentally broke this wind deflector of my Step-dad's Goldwing. (i rushed and my dumbass got caught in it). It's a Goldwing 1500 (1993). is there a way to repair it or purchase it somewhere to get the same or a new pair? (Located in Belgium)

Thank you in advance

Wife and I just picked up our first Goldwing

We used to ride 2 up on my 95 Shadow 1100 until it was stolen recently, but she always complained about the seat being uncomfortable for her anyway. We found this bike, it hadn't run in a few years but was all complete and in otherwise decent shape, so we pulled the trigger. Of course right after we got it, the police located my Shadow, so now I'm getting that back up and running to get it sold as well as bringing the Goldwing back to life.

Anyway, we are now the proud owners of a 1982 Goldwing Interstate. Carb rebuild kit is in the mail, I did get it running on carb cleaner and a full can of Berrymans B12 in the tank. Carbs will be coming off later today, and once it is running on its own we will be tackling the timing belts and other maintenance items.

When you plan a multi-day trip, do you pick the roads first or the overnight stops first?

Been going in circles on this planning a longer run on the 2024 Wing.

One way: find the roads you want, string them together, then figure out where you're sleeping - and accept that some nights you're rolling into a town at 8pm taking whatever has a vacancy.

Other way: lock the overnights first, because a bad motel at the end of 400 miles ruins the next day more than a boring stretch of road does, then connect them with the best pavement you can find in between.

Both have an obvious failure mode. Book ahead and you end up doing slab in the afternoon to make a reservation. Wing it and you're hunting for a room at dusk in a town that doesn't have one.

Which camp are you in, and how far ahead do you actually book? Curious whether the two-up riders answer this differently than the solo guys.

Insta360 on goldwing.. any thoughts , recommendations or warnings?

Hello everyone, I haven’t seen many installation guides of Insta 360 or other 360° cameras on Goldwing. Literally not so many tutorials or guidelines so far for at least 2018- models.

So I used my imagination, and ended up with this..

Obviously the clamps not the best ones for the job but they hold tight.. not sure about the stick as it feels quite ordinary and not so strong..

I have seen someone managed to replace it with carbon fiber monopod.. this can be my next purchase..

I also will tie the housing (K&F concept) and the stick separately to the rack with a 2mm dyneema or a parachute string..

I am wondering if this setup makes sense or it is awww…
😬

My girls. Riding again after about 10 years of not.

Started riding about 8 months ago. This is the start of my collection. The Silverwing (has about a year) is called 47 Protons…. Cause silver, And it sounds like a good science fiction ship name. The Goldwing (2 months) is called Phoebastria.

CVO ST to Goldwing

Thinking about looking to trade this for a wing. The more I think about it, we ride Harley’s to listen and look at them. Don’t get me wrong, she sounds magnificent but logically I know the wing is a better machine and its life would surpass this. I do love this bike but…. What would you guys expect my value to be if I took it in on trade, maybe walk out even swap?

2024 CVO ST
16k miles
Lots of adds but I know value wise they don’t matter

Thoughts?

My 1986 Goldwing is back!!

I got my Goldwing back and it’s now running like a champ! The plug to the CDI unit was halfway off causing it to loose spark. Now I just have to get the aftermarket lights all working, fix the small oil leak near the starter, and fix the small leak in the rear air suspension system and it’ll be prefect!

Is it possible or even worth while removing the cb radio? (Details below)

I am very tall and am pretty much over the limit of leg length for the GL1500. One issue this causes for me is my left knee often accidentally hits the dial for the cb radio. This has happened enough to make me wonder if it was possible to remove the whole board hopefully cap off the wires and then maybe fit a blank 3D plated plate, or something along those lines.

I have no intended use for it.

How complicated would that process be, would it affect the radio and cassette player for example?

Feasibility of GW coast to coast fly and ride trip?

Ok forgive me for my ignorance and the craziness of a trip my friends and I have been cooking up.

TL;DR: what tips, advice, or cautions would you give to a crew of mechanically competent, well seasoned riding idiots who want to buy some goldwings on the west coast and ride them back to the east coast (like ocean to ocean)?

The details: it has recently become apparent that a sizable number of my whole riding friend network have all been secretly harboring some variation of the same idea: buy an old goldwing and ride it cross country. As these things often go, the idea of literally coast to coast has taken hold, and on top of that, buying them in LA where none of us live (we do know someone with a well equipped garage there).

We all have been riding probably 10+ years and have plenty of technical experience for the minor things we might need to address mid trip (fluids, flats, filters, basic troubleshooting)

I'm partial to the aesthetics of the older bikes (1200, 1500), but reverse gear and fuel injection would probably be nice. Any other model year advice?

I assume we'll probably do oil and tires before we leave. Anything else we should check on otherwise seemingly well running bikes?

I know it's a goldwing? But how many hours a day are feasible? 6? 10?

What is dangling from my left handlebar? (1993 Gl1500 SE)

No idea what this is or how long it's been disconected. It doesn't reach far and nothing seems to be mising a plug on the left controls. Am I an idiot or is this from some aftermarket part the previous owner removed?

The tip is a single button of some kind.

Anyone here for Gold wing projects?

First ever bike, saved this one from the junkyard cause it was free, I like to tinker and I want to learn how to ride. It’s a 79’. Any tips on what should be replaced besides the wiring harness.

Looking to buy my first bike.

Hello, I'm 41 grew up in the 90s, I've been a huge JDM car guy. I've owned multiple Japanese sport cars my current is a GR86, I'm getting bored of the car, thinking about selling it soon, it's not my daily. I've always loved the 90's Goldwings. I'm looking at two this weekend. Opinions of what to look out for and what to look for. One is a 1985 with 1200cc with 22k miles the other is a 93 trike with 63k miles. Both around the same price the 85 is 2500 and the 93 is 3000. And I've never driven a bike but I have driven manuals since I was 16.

Any suggestions, input and information is highly appreciated
